Should a win be discredited if they are fighting in a lower weight & smaller opponent

Should a win be discredited if they are fighting in a lower weight class & smaller opponents??

I made a thread asking what is exactly is natural weight and I kept getting the same answers . The best answer was form Silencers “Natural fighting weight is the weight where a boxer feels most comfortable while being able to fight effectively”

Should Hopkins win over Tito be discredited?? Was Tito affected by fighting at MW or did Hopkins have a size advantage.

    Maragrito win over Cotto

    Mayweather over Hatton

And there are many more examples.

In some cases yes. Like Hopkins vs Delahoya was a joke.

margarito and coto were in the same division both title holders
        there is nothing to discredit
i mean i posted a poll before the fight saying if margarito height was gonna be a factor and everyone said he was gonna be a perfect target for cotto bodyshots and how cotto dismantled pinto, and how tony doesnt use his size advantage etc
mayweather and hatton were also both champs but hatton was a weight division below so that win should be discredited

It ain't always gonna be the same answer. A good example is the DLH thing that's goin on right now. Pac-DLH at 147 is bull****. DLH would get no cred for that. If DLH beat Tony at 154 tho, he'd get props.

But Margarito size advantage over Cotto was way greater than Mayweather over Hatton.

If you can make the weight class, there's no point in worrying about what's "big" for that class. Margarito is a WW because he makes 147 the day before the fight.

Now fighting guys who come up in weight and have made their name at another, that is a different story. Tito was not a great middleweight, so no that win doesn't count for much. A win over Tito at 147 was great, 154 too, at 160 not so much. That would be like Hatton beating Pac.

                but like silencers said
cotto felt more comfortable fighting at 147 and so did margarito
they were both in their natural weight classes it cant get any more fair
i doubt hatton felt comfortable fighting at 147 thats why he no longer fights there

Didn't Hopkins weigh less than Oscar for that fight? Hops told him he wanted to come down to 156, but Oscar had to bulk up to 160 for no good reason. I think mayweather learned from watching that fight, that's why he came in smaller when they fought.

Tito knocked out Joppy at MW and he come into the fight weighing more. Plus that fight Hopkins did not win on size but his boxing ability.
