You would probably make a pretty damn good judge according to the AIBA....just don't push the button for Russo, and any country west of Eastern Europe

Another thing. I guarantee Wilder fights Russo again in 5 years for a title. Im not too sho, but Russo might go in fo'

Did you see who worked Russo's corner? It was Fransisco Damiani. He was one of my fav. am's back in the day that I followed the am's. He had a decent career as a pro as well.

After quite clearly outpunching Biggs in the finals, Damiani was also the rightful gold medal winner in the super heavyweight class from the L.A. Olympics in '84, and while he didn't get awarded the gold, he could take solace in the fact that the crowd, who booed quite loudly the decision given to Biggs, agreed with his thinking that he thought he won. As did the papers who reported that Biggs was "gifted" with the gold and things of that nature.

What did Damiani say after that bout, "What did I have to do, kill him"?

Yes, Francesco, in 1984 you (and almost anyone else) pretty much had to kill the American fighters to get a decision over them in their home country, as your fellow countryman, Angelo Musone, had obviously found out in the semis versus Henry Tillman.

Russo was quite awful to watch during these Games, though, and I was glad he lost.
