Wow....this interview makes me shed a tear for Tyson

It's funny how so many comedians make fun of how Tyson talks, yet he talks better than most of them. -
I've always thought that Mike was smarter than most think. Business wise maybe not but he speaks proper English. What's funny is that what he said people would expect him to do or wished to see him do-He did. He ended up handcuffed a few times in the back of a police car. That's what's sad. He gave people what they wantedComment

Tyson was like a maniac on the outside, and a really deep intelluctual person on the inside. He says things that you would never think he's capable of saying based on what you see on him on the outside, but that's clearly not so. I give props to Mike how he is in his current state. But all his old interviews were bull****. He goes to say he's fine, only to go nuts a fight or 2 later. I do understand that he's doing it for entertainment and to sell, but it's almost like he hates people that judge him for that, but then he goes and does it anyway knowing it's to put asses in seats or whatever beneficial way for him. I mean you can't go saying you hate how people treat you and act like your a changed man only to go back on it. Hate that ****.Comment

I have a hard time feeling sorry for a guy that made as much as Tyson did in the 80s only to end up bankrupt. Sure, he had poor management, but you can't be an idiot.Comment

Complex guy is Tyson, a figure of hate and an idol to millions at the same time, he's done bad **** he's said some crazy stuff but he's done alot of good for alot of people and charitys aswell as the sport. Mikes been ****ed over loads of times but he ****ed it himself mainly, he dont want pity tho he's lived 1 hell of a life but i'll be damed if i dont feel sorry for him.
I Luv Mike Tyson. There will NEVER be another.Comment

Take a ***** out the ******, who's never had **** his whole life, give him fortune & fame beyond anything he'd ever imagined and it's almost a givin' he'd go crazy. Fame is a strange thing. People scopin' you out, watchin' your every move an all of that, I wouldnt want that ****. I enjoy my solitude too much.Comment

Great find, and it really showcases Mike's deep intellect.
It always brings a smile to my face when I see him live at ringside during big fights with his sons. It really seems he has his **** together now and I wish him nothing but the best.
I'd love nothing more than to just tell him how much I appreciate him, and maybe talk old school boxing with him for a bit.Comment

I "met"/ran into Tyson twice in my life.
First, around the time Don King had "taken him under his wing". Got into the elevator of my building, on my floor, and when the door opens, inside the car is standing DK and Tyson. Had no idea what in the world they were doing there and caught me off guard for obvious reasons. DK is holding back a grin and Tyson is looking at the floor of the car pacing a bit..got the sense that he was really pent up, and couldn't wait to get off the elevator. I had a car waiting for me outside the building and I asked DK if they needed a ride and he said "no thanks, we're fine"; and that was that. As I rode away I recall thinking that Tyson just gave off this explosive energy; like he could go off at any moment..and he looked like an unhappy young man.
Many years later, I saw Tyson and his entouarge at the airport in Chicago I think it was. Much different guy. Self assured, calm and easy. Had about four guys with him and clearly he was the center of their world.
As it turned out he sat across from me on the flight. People came up to him and he couldn't have been nicer. We "gabbed" for a few minutes (his initiation not mine). He was very much like the Tyson in the interview that started this thread. I thought at the time, what a difference from years earlier with King.
Anyway, seeing how it all turned out, it is sad..whether it was all or some of his doing.Comment
