Roy Jones and Joe Calzaghe have lucrative television deals and can make money fighting anyone. Malignaggi doesn't have an exclusive contract and needs two to tango.

Maybe in England where Hatton is a major star a fight can be promoted and marketed with little to no conflict, but in America where Malignaggi isn't a big name and neither is Hatton, you have to stir the pot a little to create enough interest for a big fight where the titles will come together. Otherwise, what's the use?

In America, a guy walking to the podium and saying "I do my talking in the ring" = poor media coverage and poor ticket sales.

Roy Jones was allowed to fight guys like Antonio Byrd, Richard Frazier and Glen Kelly on HBO, TV is very kind to him. When you fight guys like that on HBO, you make easy money.

Calzaghe doesn't have to be big in America, he's big in his country and people in America want to fight him.

I know Paulie Malignaggi because I write for this site and covered boxing a great deal in New York City and he trains in the town I live in, Vero Beach, FL at Buddy McGirt's gym.

It alternates depending on who is in camp. James McGirt Jr. of course is down here, Vernon Forrest was down here for his last camp but this one he's training in Atlanta for it. I've seen Audley Harrison down here, Gato Figueroa is in town right now. Lamon Brewster used to train here. Emmanuel Nwodo is also in town I believe. A lot of guys train down here, Kendall Holt and the Peterson brothers were here not too long ago. Shaun George is training down here in the Fall.
