The reason why oscar does not fight on hbo is because he can make big money on his name alone...its common sense boxing is a business as well if you can make big money on PPV why fight on HBO?

Also Margarito has fought on plenty of undercards for PPVs and even had fight son hbo, espn, etc...but his name never grew he just didnt have the it factor even though he was beating guys.

If he embraced his American side as well and tried to speak a bit of english like Cotto did he would of crossed over better...and you know this as well so do not attack me because it is the blatant truth.

this is why Arum got Cotto a english teacher because they wanted Cotto to be the crossover star not margarito.

So blame Margarito for not doing the extra to make his name bigger...he could of started speaking elgish 4 years ago and been bigger now being able to talk on talk shows to buzz his name for an oscar fight.

Oscar is one of my Hero growing up.

Yes I would like and love for him to fight on Free TV like ABC even! that would be amazing! and it would do huge numbers if oscar had his fairwell fight hyped up for ABC on saturday or friday night.

But the problem is the promoters killed boxing so oscar has no choice but to fight yuri on ppv because arum was his promoter back then.

Oscar is too old for Margarito! Margarito is too big for Oscar...but if Oscar is forced to fight Margarito he can beat him and it will ruin margaritos marketin value.

Let OScar beat Pacman by KO since it doesnt harm mexico! Oscar felt disrespected by pacman for giving him the run around and returning his check to sign with his rival arum.

Oscar has given so much to boxing why will he give a disrespectful guy like margarito the chance to make a name with his fairwell fight?

Manny should take this offer. Even the 70-30 was going to make him lots of money. That will make him more money than him having to fight a few fights so why not? Having DLH on his resume will also look good for his legacy. I dont understand how he thinks he should get 60-40 if De la Hoya will be the main attraction. Thats way to close to a 50-50 split which pac should not get. In order for this fight to be a mega fight, they need more much then us hardcore, even casual boxing fans. They need people who dont even follow the sport much. Do you guys really think our punny little asses will make this a mega fight. Do you think DLH-PBF was the biggest fight in history because everyone in boxingscene bought it? No they need to reach out to the masses of all races, mexicans and filipinos will not make this a mega fight. DLH brings out everyone to his fights. He is the biggest draw in boxing history and has been involved in a few fights that did over 1million PPV buys and that broke records. I mean this is a guy that did over 900k PPV with mayorga. In his last fight with diaz, pac did around a little less than 200k PPV right? DLH would tripple maybe even quadruple those numbers fighting diaz. The point is that DLH is really a golden boy, everything he touches turns to gold so its only fair he gets the majority of the purse.
