Just a thought, it seems the fact that Wilder is the last American standing is a blessing of disguise of sorts considering his inexperience, because the US coaches are now able to focus on him alone. So, we should expect he will be as prepared as he can be for the fights.Last edited by Drunken Cat; 08-21-2008, 05:48 AM.

A positive note about Wilder is that although he has come in with less experience, this first time exposure to such a monumental event has rendered him humble and open for coaching. He cried when his last opponent began to do as he explained that he could relate with his struggles and dissapointment.
Unfortunately, this inexperience may cause him the next bout because the Italian he will be facing is more developed and saavy. Hopefully, Wilder will be able to catch him and KO because that is about the only way he can win.

Of course Russo isn't going to turn pro. If he was going to he would have by now. 28 is not an unusual age for olympic fighters at all. Very few of them ever turn pro. Anyway, I really want Wilder to win. It would spark some life in a heavyweight division when he turned pro and all the networks wanted to cover him. The division needs any sort of star power it can muster.
