showtime vs hbo

Personally I prefer HBO.
I like hearing Jim Lamply and Larry Merchant covering the fights (i feel they do a great job; one of if not THEE best in the sport) and HBO tends to have majority of all major fights...
Shotime tends to only get fighters who have either:
A) fallen off the wagon, meaning fighters who are out of their prime or lost several fights and arent what they use to be.
or
B) fighters on their way to the top.
they do have SOME of the top current fighters on their air regularly...
they have had some great fights on their air like the castillo v. corrales fight; marquez v. vasquez trilogy; etc.
but overall i think HBO is dominating.
what i like about SHO more than HBO is they have more fights sometimes not just on saturdays but also on fridays...
so they i think have MORE fights and even if they arent big names they have good matchups. they dont have nearly as many ppv's (which is a good thing).Comment

Showtime has killed HBO in terms of both for years. I think more people subscribe to HBO is why they get more votes. Bernstein is the smartest person in boxing by farComment

Showtime commentators are idiots! They're boring and they don't have the fast and creative commentary live Lampley!Comment

I feel HBO commentary gets you really into the fight which one of the most important things(if im not into the fight, whats the point?). SHO commentators give great insight into the fight and whats actually going on but they deliver it without emotion. If I had to pick I would take HBO over SHO every day of the week. As for fights though SHO does a good job getting real fights not just big names like HBO does.Comment

I'll accept that. Showtime's guys are worlds smarter than HBO's dumbasses (though HBO is getting better by replacing Larry with Max), but the HBO guys know how to hype a fight. They also know how to shoot it down as soon as they realized they overhyped it.Comment

I'll give the slight edge to HBO right now. It's kinda like international basketball. The US was extremely superior for a long time, and now, well. They are still better, but the margin has closed significantly.Comment
