    in the time you have become a fan of boxing, more than enough for you to post on a boxing board, you must have a sense of who is winning and controlling a fight right? **** what boxrec says do you honestly think that the Mayweather vs De La Hoya was a close fight? Close enough to be a SD?

    Mayweather won a comfy 8-4 decision and if you use "well the score shows a SD and the judges know more blah blah blah" mantra then you are just trying to **** on Mayweather

    he won, easier than most thought, and was fortunate that two of the judges saw this

      Margarito is a good fighter, but he would not beat Mayweather. The skill difference is too vast in all areas. While Mayweather did grow up with a great coach to teach him from the moment he could first start, it still takes a certain will, motivation and talent to keep it up and become the champ he did. Why haven't all the sons of great boxers all become amazing champs? That theory doesn't really wash.

      Duran grew up in abject poverty as well and become one of the fiercest and yet most skillful defensive fighters ever. It is the same with the majority of great fighters. Did Whitaker have loads of money and a dad/coach?
      don't say never;
      margarito's pressure would be the difference once again;
      we don't know how mayweather will deal with that, margarito is not hatton...
      he has a better chin is taller and has longer reach

        Excellent post!

        Margarito is a true champion, willing to fight the best. Floyd's is a coward who only fights carefully hand-picked opponents.

          Contrary to that, Margarito, yes, born in cali, was raised in Tijuana, one of the worst places in the world. Wasn't raised or taught by pro boxers, didn't go to the best gyms or have the nicest things, but grew up taking beatings from grown men and eventually learned from those beatings how to conquer his opponents with sheer heart, so he wasnt polished or taught early on the great boxing techniques like floyd was. He had to learn through beatings and pain. And sure today his skills do not even come close to floyds, but i would have the highest expectations of him to beat floyd with his pressure, power, and heart.
          Back to floyd, he grew up having it all and having easy, never having felt pain. He fought for money, marg fought for survival. And up til july 25th, Cotto was talked about like he was the mother****er to beat floyd and u floyd fans can't say u didn't fear him deep down, on the 26th, suddenly after Marg beat him down like a dog, floyd fans immediately called him overrated.

          pbf trained his ass off everyday to get where he is. He deserves your respect as much as margarito does.
