Margarito is gaining quite a decent resume these days but i still cant help but think he is Overrated i believe he will lose again very soon probably to Clottey

No fan it doesn't. Cotto leans forward so he has always been susceptible to the uppercut. The angles that were created in the fight came from cotto's movement effective and ineffective. Both of these fighters are overrated, dangerous for any ww but definitely overrated. Cotto a frontrunner would be effective for mentally weak and equally stamina deprived opponents., Margie a brawler effective against stamina deprived and mentally weak opponents. Elite fighters don't exhibit those attributes. But Both of those weaknesses would be exploited by an elite boxer so I can understand your confusion. So neither is or should have ever been considered elite regardless of what any fanboy would try to convince you to believe.

You say this as if Cotto is the only opponent to have tasted a Tony uppercut.


I'm not saying he is the most skilled, but to say he doesn't have any skill or is mediocre at best is hating.

You don't become a top welterweight for the last 3 or 4 years with no skills.

With 5 career losses Margarito has managed to hold alphabet titles in 1 division his entire career. He has no real amateur accomplishments. He has already been defeated by 1 of the other titleholders in the division. He is already 30 years old. But some would have us believe that he has had a greater career than future Hall of Famers like Oscar, Floyd, or even Joe Calzaghe & Roy Jones.

Is he the most overrated boxer in history. Guys like David Reid, Edison Miranda, Tommy Morrison were overrated but I think Margarito just might take 1st place.

If it wasn't for that chin of his, we wouldn't be talking about him right now
