hmmmm the o.p makes some good points about pavlik been just a slugger but on the other hand you have to look at hopkins last fight with calzaghe he gased after round 8, and him goin down pretending he had been hit low were distress singles ......... he needed the rest !!!!!!!!!!! i think its possible for hopkins to win and no way would i bet against it BUT if hopkins found the pace hard against calzaghe hes gunna find it even harder against pavlik and this is how i think the fight will play out ............ pavlik wining not because hes a better fighter just because hes youger and will graduly bit by bit wear hopkins down !!!

The difference between me and these other people, is that I have watched the fight several times and observed the punches that weren't landing while jim lampley while shouting ecstatically over joe 'destroying' Hopkins. Anyway, even though I believe Hopkins did enough to win, I can still see why the decision went to Joe, so I don't complain too much about it.

The compubox stats were also a complete ****ing joke. I actually went through the first 3-4 rounds, watched it slow motion, and compared my stats to compubox. I remember I had about 20-25% of what they had and it was mainly just BS punches like tapping Hopkins on the side in a clinch. I believe one round compubox had something like 16 punches landed and I counted maybe 3.

Pavlik is the definition of one demensional slugger and is one of the most predictable fighters in the game with his 1-2 1-2 11-2 over and over again.Hopkins will make Pavlik look like an amature with ease and knock him out before the fifth round.If a feather fisted middleweight can put Pavlik down Hopkins will KO him with one clean right hand.This fight is a missmatch and if Hop was in his prime it would of been murder.Kelly is lucky to even be champion and if he wasn't American he wouldn't be one because Pavlik would of been forced to fight Arthur Abraham instead of senior citizens.Kessler would Ko him in two,Arthur would play with him like he did Miranda and KO him four and Calzaghe would beat him Lacy style and make him his ***** for twelve rounds.

if anyone can pull a victory out of their ass it's hopkins, but pavlik is too busy and punches too hard and hopkins can't fight 12 rounds anymore.

hopkins only hope of course is to make it an ugly fight and hope for a decision.

Think that Pavlik is too young, much too strong and has a greater desire for the win then Hopkins . However, Hopkins has "forgotton" defensive moves that Pavlik hasn't seen yet. That being said, I take Pavlik to TKO Hopkins in the later rounds.
