If he don't care about people flamin him for not fightin Pavlik, he'll retire. That fight is more meaningful than any fight he would have at 175 outside of the RJ fight. If he gets beat decisively by Roy, he might come back against a soft opponent. Should he win against Roy, he either walks or faces Kelly in his last fight.

Depends if and how Pavlik beats Hopkins.

I think if Pavlik KOs Hopkins, the clamour will grow and so will the size of Joe's cheque.

Joe will see the easy money and dish out one last beating.

There is not way Pavlik will KO Hopkins I don't think. If Joe beats Roy and wants to retire then everyone should just accept it and move on. He is getting old and has been fighting for a long time, he has earned the right to go out on his own terms in my opinion.

I also think it would depend on how Calzaghe looked against Roy. I think Joe is starting to age a little and if that trend continues against Roy then it might just be best for him to call it a day, win or lose.

I don't think he will personally for the reason being that a potential fight with Pavlik would bring money that Calzaghe would find hard to turn down. Also fighting and beating Pavlik would really cement his legacy as one of the best SMW ever and really would silence the doubters once and for all.

Calzaghe defiantly won't retire if he losses to Roy, if he wins then it's a toss up really.

I think he will struggle a little with Jones and he will retire...

I agree with this. Millions of dollars are hard to turn down, especially for a man who although well rewarded in his career, has only just started getting those kinds of paydays.

I also agree that the Pavlik fight must appeal to Joe, considering what it would mean in boxing terms and the fact that on paper he's an easy Joe opponent.

One thing that surprises me though is that Joe's critics are calling for him to fight Pavlik, an inexperienced new champ from at least a weight class below Joe. If I wanted to see Joe lose I would be clamouring for Dawson or Tarver, which IMO are harder fights than Pavlik, since both are real LHWs, which Joe is not.

If Joe fails to beat Jones by anything other than easily then I think he should retire, he definitely should retire if he loses.
