The USA team has a lot of explaining to do for the 2008 Olympics. This is going to be the WORST performance by them in over 60 years. 2004 was a bad year but I feel that the 2008 squad was stronger than that bunch, so talent wasnt the problem. Either they didn't throw punches, danced around like sissys(warren), or they just looked to make excuses for not getting points or the opponet getting points. Wake up America, no one is out to get you. We had two world champions on this team, a guy that couldnt make weight, and some kids that have boxed for many years and they still couldn't get it right. Whether its some punk ass kid on the team that is to good to follow instruction is still beyond me. Why would you not put your ego aside for country pride? This Olympic boxing team should be ashamed and tuck their heads between their legs.
As for Wilder he got very lucky but if it was to happen to anyone it should be to a guy like him. Its pretty insane to see a guy like Wilder who lacks talent and skill compared to some of the guys yet he showed more heart and went out there to win.
