What did he do different before, that he doesn't do now? I think you mean the Mayorga at 147 would bury him, since his power was 1 punch (slap) type. Everyone knows what Mayorga brings to the table he doesnt change, that's why Kirkland with his power and strength would smash him.

I don't doubt Kirkland's strength at all, but until I see him with some REAL competition, a REAL test and see how he holds up againest those tests, then I say the old Mayorga would beat him.

I really like Kirkland alot, but Mayorga no matter what has faced and beaten elite fighters. I don't believe he is so shot that he would get beaten by a guy who got a flash knockdown from Allen Conyers. There isn't one name that stands out in Kirklands resume, so I side with the guy who is at least proven in the big stage.

I think Ann's training gets their fighters in tip top, unbelievable shape.

But, thats SOO MUCH MORE stress and wear on your body that later on, it'll cost him, BAD. you'll see.
