Yeah! It's not like right before the fight they are gonna say "I'm not really in very good shape for this fight. I didn't train hard because I was supposed to fight a bum but...."

Lewis was just old for that fight.

Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis would always be a good fight, even a Prime Lewis.

When Lennox Lewis left the ring, the crowd booed him. When Vitali raised his fist, the crowd became his fans. Lennox Lewis retired soon afterwards after seeing what Vitali did to his next opponent. I think Vitali won.

When there is no longer doubt or fear of the team or player losing, it becomes something greater than everyone imagined. Joe Calzaghe and his fans have the same thing.
Klitschko is a good heavyweight in a sea of bums. That's no great accomplishment. And Joe Calzaghe does not have that same comfort. He's in between some scary divisions, with fighters like RJJ, Pavlik, Winky, and Dawson to worry about. Luckily he's going to retire soon, but if he had the plan to take all these fighters on at his age there would not be this comfort. I also don't know how you can say he has such comfort when Hopkins already tapped that ass.
