They said something about throwing out the highest and lowest scores (whatever the **** that means, I thought they just counted punches).

Basically yeah, they use something called accepted scores. If anyone can explain what those are, that would be tight.

I'm pretty sure they count each individual judges score, add them up, and whoever has the highest wins.

Think it works like...

5 judges. A point is scored only if all 5 press the scoring button for a fighter within one second and a half.

Additional, all judges logging of their button pressing is kept (so at the end you have button presses that didn't become 'points' because they weren't unanimous, nevertheless they are still points on that judges card.


So then yes, the highest and lowest scoring sheets are removed, and then the three middle range scoring sheets are examined. They determine the winner from those.
