2008 Olympic Boxing Results, Day Six (Part Two)

By Jake Donovan - Reigning world amateur welterweight champion Demetrius Andrade sails through to the quarterfinals after a convincing 14-3 win over Russia's Anatoly Balanov, avenging a 2005 World Cup defeat in the process. Bakhyt Saesekbayev scored the lone knockout of welterweight competition, sending home 2000 Bronze medalist Vitaly Grusac of Moldova with a second round stoppage. A pair of 2004 light welterweight bronze medalists are ousted in this year's Round of 16, while reigning Gold medalist Manus Boonjumnong of Thailand cruises to the quartefinals. He will meet Cuba's Roniel Iglesias, who celebrated his 20th birthday with a 15-3 drubbing of Morocco’s Driss Moussaid. [details]

**** I missed Zou Shiming? Yeah man Demetrius and Deontay got some confidence and were looking really good, I'm counting on Luis Yanez and I think Atlas was wrong about him not having power.. watch Luis fight Bryan Aquino on youtube, mother****er has some power.

Hell yeah, the 142 pounder i think it was.. mother****er was sick, so relaxed and intelligent in there, and won by a ridiculous margin.

theres a guy from england that im worried about wilder losing to named Price...that's all i know his last name is price and he's from england

wilder beat out a local dude named quantis graves, he lives in a very rural place in louisiana but I watched the fight, quantis landed the hardest punch of the fight and showed good defensive skills, but the punch connect percentage and score system simply favored wilder in the end......

if Teddy Atlas says he has no power..........then he has power.

Yanez looked good. Andrade didnt look good in his first fight, looked very good today though. I watched the Suarez-Saunders fight at WW (Andrade's weight) and the Cuban Suarez is deffinately a threat to Andrade if and or when they meet. But Andrade is so mch bigger than those guys, hes a huge ww.

Sadam Ali will make a good pro too. Molina got embarrassed.

Williams fights tomorrow. Most underrated kid on the team. He looked real good in the first round hope he does well.
