I agree with you. I really have a hard time seeing sense in people's argument that Pavlik would beat Joe right now, Joe is just way too versatile and way too good at fighting that type of fighter. But age certainly may end up being a telling factor. As I have said previously, fighters like Calzaghe age very quickly. WHen you rely on combination and volume punching, speed and movement it can all go very quickly when you age.

I think the Margarito-Cotto fight showed that Calzaghe is a much more complete and adaptable fighter than Miguel Cotto.
