The way the Welterweight Division should Go.

If Margarito had brains he would tell Williams and Clottey to get it on in a unification bout saying he would fight the winner in the mean time fighting Zab for the cash and in the process producing a lineal ww champion. It would also eliminate the need for him to fight one of the most dangerous welters in the world.

Cotto should take solice in the fact that Williams and Clottey just want Margarito.

Cotto should chase down Berto and aim to become the mandatory for his title and force his hand thus putting Cotto back in a strong position in the Welter for a Unification bout with the winner of Margarito/Williams/Clottey.

    Have i missed anyone?

It is the best path for Margarito to go on. Not only does he get an easy big money fight (which he deserves) he makes Clottey and Williams do his dirty work and bring two of the belts together.

It looks like the welter division has split in 2. on one side you have Margarito and Williams and Clottey doing all they can to chase him and on the other you have Berto. I hope Cotto lick his wounds and goes after Berto giving him bargaining power for a match with the winner of the other side and giving us a lineal champ forcing media presure on Floyd to fight the UNDISPUTED unified welter weight champion of the world

Sounds good. I want to see Williams - Quintana III (at no particular time, i just want it to happen). I agree with Cotto going after Berto, I think his team already has that in mind. He's the least seasoned of the Champs so it should (theoretically) be his easiest way back onto the landscape.

I like that idea, good post.
But id rather Cotto take on Collazo or someone like that (respectable but not hard punching) Then dismantle Cintron and then throw em back in with Marg who i think he beats in a rematch. He and Berto who will have raised his profile a bit by then could then get it on.

Who do you think will come out on top. The way i see it is

Williams: i would have him favourite as i think he has Margarito's number
Cotto: I can also see him beatting all the others
Margarito: i think he has Clotteys number but will struggle against Williams and Cotto if he learns how to punch then clinch
Berto: Haven't seen enough of him to pass judgement.

Lets hope Quintanna does not get a hold of Berto before Cotto.

So on one side i see Williams/Margarito/Clottey
on the other there is Berto/Cotto/Quintanna

I see Cintron being too much a risk for too little a reward for Cotto as Cintron has a KO punch that would test Cotto a little too much. I would have Cotto as favourite though.

Collazo is washed up. i cant think of who else to put Cotto in with.

Does anyone have a link to the WBC welter listings/rankings?

To be honest with you, I dont feel that Williams' has Margarito's number (I'm not saying this because I'm a Marg fan btw) their fight was very close. I dont feel that either man dominated the other.

Also, I've mentioned this before that I'm glad we have this situation and that we don't have an "obvious" champ. This goes to show how much talent there is at WW (not like HW where Wlad is the champ, no questions asked)

I apologise here are the WBC rankings. Collazo would be perfect

                  1 .- Luis Collazo
                  2 .- Miguel Cotto
                  3 .- Jackson Osei Bonsu
                  4 .- Jesus Soto Karass
                  5 .- Carlos Baldomir

Collazo Cotto would effectivly be a wbc eliminator. If he could get collazo he would be guaranteed a title shot within 7 months of the fight

Perfect huh but i hear its gonna be the Hard hitting Cintron 1st for Miguel, dangerous 1st fight back after getting stopped but it shows his character and that his confidence hasnt been shaken. Suppose same could be said for Kermit god i love the WW's!!!
