NYC and Mexico city have both produced alot of great fighters but they also have really huge populations of 8+ million people. Los Mochis, Mex on the other hand has recently produced some good fighters for a city of around 230,000.

And Im sure I've missed quite a few others... No other city can even come close let alone compare...
some other dudes from nyc off the top of my head
Paulie Malignaggi, Joshua Clottey (Ghanna but boxes out of the Bronx), luis collazo, junior jones, dmitry salita, darling jiminez, danny jacobs, mean joe greene, shannon 'the cannon' briggs, jaidon codrington, travis simms, and countless others

nyc obviously is the top city.

Philly can't really compare with nyc, but while it is less impressive on the grand scale, it has some serious soul. part of the lack of success comes from the harshness of training in philly. you'll see a cat with like 10 fights with tons of scar tissue in their face. the sparring is brutal. heres an abbreviated list of champs, hof'ers and notable fighters from...

Bernard Hopkins - best middleweight of all time (imo)
Joe Frazier (top 10 heavies of all time- won "The fight of the CENTURY" over "THE GREATEST")
          Meldrick Taylor
Sonny Liston - relocated to philly to evade arrest and stayed there. became champion while training and living in PHILLY!
Dwight Muhammad Qawi - technically from Camden, but trained in philly
          Jeff Chandler
          mathew saad muhammad
          joey giardello
          Tommy Loughran
          Bobby Watts (beat Hagler)
Willie 'the worm' monroe (beat hagler)
          David Reid
          Benny Bass
          Law Tendler
          tim witherspoon
          gil turner
Jimmy young - ("the man who gave ali a boxing lesson" - lost a contreversial ud to him. RING magazine writer Lester Bromberg scored the fight 11 rounds to 4 for Jimmy Young. Bromberg called the official decision "a travesty of a decision."beat foreman and beat lyle twice)

          some of the current prospects
          teon kennedy
          mike jones
          chazz Witherspoon
          rock allen

          what!

          mad props to detroit too!

these are not bunch of journeymen and old guys retired that you basically saw fight somebody else so you stick him on, your prospects are prospects that have been prospects for ages and aint looking too good for them like allen, my list is mostley active real good champs , prospects that are amounting to something and guy at least this era, basically your list is relocation, relococation, beat a popular guy with ()s,and a paragraph to make your list look bigger but that list is to be shortened, the the NY one too

                  PHILLY

PhillyBoxingHistory.com is the home of Philadelphia boxing lore. Visit this site for everything that is the history of Philly boxing – the fighters, fights, venues, gyms, trainers, managers, promoters, cut men, sports writers, memorabilia, the PA Boxing Hall of Fame, amateur championships, and everything else. You’ll discover all the legends of the sport – champions, contenders, journeymen, and forgotten dreamers. We profile every famous fight venue – the large outdoor stadiums to the smoky little fight clubs. Find out about all the great events – from title bouts to club fights. We also have thousands of posters, programs, tickets, photos, and other artifacts to view. But that’s not all. Philly Boxing History also runs a Gravestone Program that places headstones on the unmarked graves of deceased Philadelphia boxing personalities. Our “Briscoe Award” is the only Philly-specific prize in the world of boxing. Our “Archive Service” offers specific on-demand research tailored to your needs. Everyday, “This Day in Philly Boxing History” spotlights important dates of pugilism from the City of Brotherly Love.
