not what the issue supposedly is. according to Williams fans, he only fights midgets? those were his biggest fights right there. if people want to start talking about size, then williams should be fighting Super middle, Light heavy.

If your able to make the weight limit reguardless of height, you deserve to fight. That's what keeps this sport interesting. Different physical builds create different styles for fighters. Styles make fights. The only thing that concerns me is how long fighters have to recover after the weigh-ins. It's a double edged sword. when fighters have over 24 hours to recover, some come in the ring way, way, way heavier then the weigh-in weight. If they make weigh-ins the same day as the fight I could see problems with fighters not recovering from the dehydration therfore causing major health risk. If it was up to me I think fighters should weigh-in eight hours before a fight. Boxing has many risk. This would keep things more honest.

I'm a Cotto fan. As far as Margarito being to big is bogus! They both made the weight limit on the date required by regulations. Listen, watch the weigh-ins on hbo.com or youtube. Cotto struggled to make weight as much as Margarito. Notice how as soon as he gets off the scale the first thing he does is drink from a bottle I'm sure was filled with nuetrients. He was defenitly dehydrated! They both came in the ring alot alot heavier than the weigh-ins. They just carry the weight differently. Cotto looks smaller because he carries the weight in his lower body. With the big ass shorts boxers wear, you just don't see it. I feel the weigh-ins should be 8 hours before the fight. That way fighters would be more true to the weight division they are fighting. Wow! how things would change!

He is a big WW and yes he has a physical advantage over fighters like Cotto, but the point is that Marg makes the weight... what more can you say??

He tried JMW and failed.... he doesnt have the skills to effectively transcend to higher weight classes. He should stick to WW as long as he can.

I said basicly said the same thing twice. I didn't realize it was the same thread. ha! see what boxing has done to my brain. lol...Again, I'll make myself clear...I'm a Cotto fan. Cotto isn't making excuses and I'm not going to make excuses for him either. He lost fair and square. Cotto would win a rematch though with minor adjustments!
