did u just mention Ali and Hamed in the same sentence? Hameds defense was a joke he did get hit a lot...Muhammed was great in his younger days but he was a HW and his reflexes slowed as the fights went on...

I hate to say this but...Winky Wright. His defense is solid but not as great as it was made out to be by a lot of Johnny Come Lately's who first noticed him when he fought Tito. He's been lumped up in quite a few of his fights. Part of that is his skin but hey, if they weren't hitting him it wouldn't show. You can even go back to his fights against Vasquez, McKart, Candelo, hell Jermain Taylor.

I would never associate Ali and Hamed in the same sentence. I think there is a big difference in the level of talent that Ali fought compared to Hamed. There was a resurgence in the lower weight divisions when Hamed fought no doubt, but Ali for the most part fought in the era of the greatest heavyweights of all time. They both did have great reflexes but Hamad would always put himself in akward positions to get dropped due to his erratic punches that he would throw. When Ali got dropped, it was due to the greatness of the other fighters and not his ******ity of letting himself open after punches.

Yea, That pretty much sumarizes it,

All i would add is that Alis defense early in his career was incredible, he only reallt started getting hit a lot after Exile.

I am glad you mentioned him. Winky has a very good defense but he started fighting bigger and bigger fighters and letting his hands go with more regularity and not it isn't what is used to be. The last two fights he has shown that he still takes shots even with his shell defense.

Um, Ali didn't get hit a lot until way past his prime (66 - 67,) and the only c level fighter I remember him getting dropped against was Henry Cooper and that was before Ali's prime, when he was only 21.
