Do you guys rememember the young Fernando Vargas with the blond streaks that took the boxing scene by storm back in 1998?
I was reliving some of Vargas' greatest moments as a pro last night (via DVD) and I couldn't help but to wonder who would win a fight between the Vargas that fought Tito or the Margarito that fought Cotto.
I think that would have been one helluva fight and a possible all time great fight.
If the fight was to take place at 154, I think I'd have to give Vargas the slight edge. Vargas D was actually decent - especially when he would get rocked (lol).
I think Vargas' hand speed and boxing skills would have won him a decision over Margarito. I see Margarito having his moments by pressuring the hell out of Vargas, but in the end Ferocious would have a little too much skill.
Opinions?
