How does Miguel Cotto beat Margarito in Cotto vs Marg II?

What does Cotto have to do to beat Margarito should they fight again?

IMO I say he probably needs to start by changing corners. I feel his uncle has taught him everything he knows. Second I say he needs to up his conditioning for exactly this type of fighter. Maybe build his legs up even more.

Any thoughts on this or what would you change?

    cotto needs to fight margarito
    the way castillo/corrales fought...
make it an inside fight the entire fight...
takes away margarito power and kills those wide looping shots
and cotto would have to block the uppercut somehow someway

he needs to go to the body earlier and stay at it..
he needs to jab while moving around the ring and not just move then stay stationary.
he needs to switch that style up a little bit an tweak it for Margarito because he was open to uppercuts.
He needs to do what I said above because otherwise he will get his nose torn up and wont be able to breath again.. if he isn't able to breath again then he is ****ed.

It's like when Izzy Vazquez got his nose broken in the first Marquez fight.. he couldn't continue after a while. The second one it didn't happen and he did much better and won.

I agree he needs to change trainers.. above all he needs to stop head hunting though.
      Also.. stay off the ropes.

            1. Cotto needs to stand extremely close to Margarito. Cotto has the short arms, this would enable him to throw short powerful hooks to the body.

            2. He needs to keep his head up and not down, this is MAIN reason why he lost. He got hit with too many uppercuts.

            3. Both his arms should be planted together. You know, like Clottey.

            4. Increase his stamina

            5. Lets hope he isn't mentally affected by the lose.

Miguel Cotto should work on his stamina so he can box in the center of the ring, stay off the ropes, keep his gloves up at all times (there were times were he dropped them completely and tried doing the matrix with Margarito's punches), if he can enter to the body go at it full power, he should try doing a more of a Calderon-Cazares I type of fight or a Quintana-Williams I kind of fight in which the shorter guy entered threw punch combinations and exited with speed and boxed around till he found an opening.

I think he should use smarter movement and he has to learn how to clinch a bit more when the situation gets bad for him, he needs to stay off the ropes and from time to time get inside Margarito's punching range, he was on the end of Magarito's punches for most of the fight where the punches do the most damage, he needs to get inside on Margarito a little bit and punch to the body, one big thing that he didn't do was punch to the body, he will have to to slow Margarito down a little bit as the fight goes on but on the inside he'll have to keep his elbows closed to watch out for those uppercuts that Margarito loves to use.

He should also pick his shots a little better, don't go head hunting.

I think he would lose again. I don't think Margarito would allow Cotto to fight on the inside, he uses his superior height and reach to good effect and boxes beautifully at range. Anyone would eventually tire if they were getting hit continuously from a distance. The problem wasn't Cotto's corner, it was Cotto.
