They have ****** "sports" like Beach Volleyball, Air Pistol shooting etc and not sports like Rugby, American football, football (soccer) and Professional boxing. That way fighters can't "avoid" each other and it set apart the great professional fighters from the good ones. AM boxing would still be there so the younger fighters would have a chance to compete. Why not? Roger Federer, Nadal etc. play for NO money so that shouldn't be an issue and Tennis/ Badminton etc run for longer than the 10 rounds a non title boxing match would normally run for. There would have to be a qualification system based on say titles/ rankings etc.
Professional Boxing as an Olympic sport?

As I stated, people like Federer etc. play and not for money and they earn a hell of alot. Getting a Gold would certainly raise the fighter profiles, hell winning silver gave Amir Khan't a big profile. Not to mention the pride of coming home with a gold medal.Comment

The olympics have very strict rules on sports where the result is open to debate.
Pro boxing is very subjective in its judging, and as such would never qualify to be inculded.
They were even considering throwing out sports like gymnastics and boxing where there is no way of telling the winner without going to judges.Comment

Yeah but they don't have to sacrifice months to training when they could be making much more money.
If you want Olympic boxing more exciting, bring back old school scoring (which for the most part is fine except for a few major fights) or change to round by round scoring and up the rounds to 5 like the contender.Comment
