Cotto still fought a great fight, Margarito just had the edge that night.

Though I agree some Cotto fans should just bite the bullet and accept the loss, some Margarito fans as well need to be a little more realistic about the fight and admit Cotto had the upper hand for a good amount of the fight. Tony's pressuring of Cotto was key. But you can't automatically assume Margarito would beat Cotto even more decisively in a 2nd fight. That fight without a doubt warrants a rematch sometime next year after Margarito fights Clottey & Williams & Cotto climbs back up the ranks.

I have no excuses for the loss, but Cotto seems eager to come back to the ring contrary to what some consider the downfall of his career.

Going into the 11th, the fight was pretty even. I don't see how that equates to having the upper hand for a good amount of the fight.

If the fight was stopped in say, the 7th, then yes, what you said would have been true.

Cotto is used to stunning his opponents with a hard punch and when that didn't happen with Margo it surprised him no doubt. His only option was to continue the onslaught and Knock Margo out, cause he was there for the taking. I see Cotto staying on the offensive next time and shoving bombs down Margo's throat for the knock out win.

Last fight Margo was the bully, he was strong and determined till the end...gotta give him his props..."THE MEXICAN BULLY."...LOL

No matter what anyone says, this was a great fight from the opening bell. Two warriors ****ing away just like I like it...old school style and no shootings...lol

OK Let's get this straight...why do I keep reading people's comments saying that "Cotto didn't fight the right fight that night..." WTF does that suppose to mean? it's almost as absurd as "Cotto didn't train well enough for Tony, he said he didn't train any different than for Shane or Zab" Hmmm OK....??? Cotto was supposedly on his hardest, more intense conditioning training camp ever, as was described by the media prior to the fight, so why the lame excuses?

Back to the original topic, Cotto fought the best fight of his career, he boxed, moved, threw combos, held his ground, beat Tony to the punch earlier in the fight. There was nothing else Cotto could have done to avoid his fate, it was inevitable, Tony was the bigger, stronger, hungrier mother ****er that night, and the rematch will be similar except Tony puts him out earlier.

P.S. I know it's going to be almost 3 weeks from the fight, but I was banned for 2 weeks and I'm trying to catch up with the ****
