I don't think he fought the wrong fight, I just think he should have held more while on the ropes instead of continuing to trade. If Cotto did that, I honestly think he would have had a much better chance of winning the fight.Comment

Cotto still fought a great fight, Margarito just had the edge that night.
Though I agree some Cotto fans should just bite the bullet and accept the loss, some Margarito fans as well need to be a little more realistic about the fight and admit Cotto had the upper hand for a good amount of the fight. Tony's pressuring of Cotto was key. But you can't automatically assume Margarito would beat Cotto even more decisively in a 2nd fight. That fight without a doubt warrants a rematch sometime next year after Margarito fights Clottey & Williams & Cotto climbs back up the ranks.
I have no excuses for the loss, but Cotto seems eager to come back to the ring contrary to what some consider the downfall of his career.Comment
