Shane Mosley on Margarito and Mayweather Jr.

Shane Mosley is set to take on Ricardo Mayorga on September 27th. If Molsey can defeat Mayorga, he wants to face the best in his next bout and that would be a fight with Antonio Margarito. Quoted recently in the media, Mosley discussed how he wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mosley explained why he wants Margarito, using Mayweather Jr's name in his explanation, stating: "When Mayweather was on top before he retired, I wanted Mayweather. Margarito is the best welterweight out there right now, so I want Margarito."

Mosley went on to say how much he loves a challenge and it's the reason he is chasing after Margarito. "So if he's the best fighter, I'm going after him," stated Mosley.

Yeah Mosley is the ****. He's always ready to take on the best, and when people say dumb **** like he ducked mayweather and call him mr dentist, it just makes me realize how dumb and biased boxing fans really are. I'd love to see Mosley-Marg.

This is part of the reason he is my all time favorite fighter. But at his age I don't think he can beat Margarito , still he could put up a good fight!

This is the fight I want to see most right now besides a rematch with PWill. I do find it funny though that now Mosley is chasing Margarito and just a couple a years ago he avoided him.

I'd hardly say Mosley avoided him. I know he didn't take Margo's offer, but the dude was on his own impressive gameplan, and Margarito was a moneymaker in the process. Why take a ****er like Margarito, when he's only one star fight away from the true big money fight? On another note, I can't believe they friggin banned you man. Why?

Don't be fooled, he's looking for a paycheck, that's his motivation, nothing else. Mosley realizes he's 36 and already past his prime. He's a glorified journeyman now, at best a gatekeeper... Wanting to fight the best is his motto, or you could call it, marketing line.
There are only an handful of fighters out there who really want to fight to prove something or to make a statement. Those are promptly put aside by the boxing market (ie Paul Williams not finding a competitive fight at WW or Clottey not being in the mix despite his recent win). This will ultimately lead to Boxing's dismiss as a mainstream sport. Oh wait, that has already been accomplished.
