    Duran vs Buchanan

    Can someone explain to me why this fight was stopped when it was? i watched it the other day and what i saw was buchanan take a low blow and then he was waved off by the referee without the five minutes recovery time. were the rules different back then?

      The referee didn't see it was a low blow, he deemed it to be a legal punch so it was treated as a knockdown and when Buchanan couldn't continue, it was ruled a knockout.
