    How come ufc/mma guys

always compare mma to Boxing? for example i heard a UFC guy on a tv interview say "in Boxing they have 4 deaths a year, in mma we dont have any"

or they'll say "this isnt Boxing, we have these tiny little gloves with little padding, in Boxing they have big gloves" **** like that.

btw, being hit with 16 ounce Boxing glove's is worse than being hit by those little mma gloves, the boxing glove is heavier which means you get hit with more force and jolts your head more, compared to the little mma gloves

the big gloves have more KO power because of jolting the head but the small maa gloves are more likely to cause damage, thats what I thought anyway.

I think the mma gloves are more effective at cutting your face up. Anyway, throw a small pair of mma gloves on a quick, heavy-handed HW boxer like W.
Klitschko who is used to throwing missiles in heavy 16 ounce's and see what kind of damage he's do to mma brawler.

ok now let him wear the maa gloves, i gurantee he'll deal far more damage with the maa gloves than the boxing gloves.

MMA gloves provide more knockout force because the force is transferred to a smaller surface area. Boxing gloves cause more damage because fighters take more punches, not necessarily clean punches but the glancing partially blocked shots.

Really the MMA gloves have the effect of allowing a fighter an opprtunity to punch with more force than with the bare knuckle without actually making much difference to the surface area contact of the punch. The UFC only started using those gloves because they know that people want to see punching and pure grapplers can't really punch without causing themselves injury if they use the bare knuckle.

I also saw a preview of that movie "Never Back Down" and one of the lines is "...that boxing stuff just doesn't cut it anymore." I laughed.

MMA is the trend. It may stay around forever, but it's still the trend right now. A trend, that I see fading already. Regardless, anytime a new dog comes into the area, they try to take out the big dog in town. Problem is, there are two different kinds of dog we're talking about.
