Why -when someone gets knocked down -does the referee rub the downed boxers' gloves on his shirt b4 he lets him go on? I've also seen this in the Olympics but they make the boxer rub the gloves on his own shirt.
I think that if the glove touches the canvas and there is sweat or blood on the canvas, it can transfer into the other boxer's eyes if the stuff isn't wiped off.
