how great would it be for him to knock out de la hoya. then become a sueprstar. then beat margarito in a rematch. i mean come on cotto... u have a really nice opportunity to make some money and fame through de la hoya. do it.
There is zero chance of that fight ever happening now. Why would Cotto say something to make him look foolish? Believe it or not, it really does matter that he lost to Margarito.

I'm starting to realize how laim it would be for DLH to fight pacman. I have a feeling it's not going to happen at this point. When you are having negotiations on using different size gloves, the idea of them fighting just becomes ******ed to me. Cotto would be a great match for DLH at this point. The fight would be entertaining, the PPV ratings would be there and both could make some good money. Keep in mind, DLH now lives in Perto Rico. He's also married to one. There's a great plot to this story including the fact it would be another Mexican vs. Puerto Rican match up. It's time! It's time for Cotto to call out the Golden Boy!

DLH is not the man Cotto should fight right after his loss.

Cotto was beaten in brutal fashion and the way he left the ring indicates he's a broken man. I doubt he'll be calling anybody out anytime soon.

Ok I see you point here and I too think it would be a very entertaining fight for the fans. It would have made much more sense if Cotto won for obvious reasons. De La Hoya is retiring or so he says after thsi one fight so really what does he have to gain by beating Cotto? Some may say his legacy and putting another great tough fight out there for his fans. Well in my mind if he wants to secure his legacy then there are two fights out there for him better then PACMAN Margarito and Mosely. If you look at the TOP WW rankings on Boxing Records Mosely has the second highest RANK right now below Margarito. De La hoya has lost once to Mosely and it would be a rematch for his legacy. Margarito is the Champ and what better way to go uut the with the belt and beating the best WW in the world.

I agree it wouldn't mean much for Cotto at this point to beat de la Hoya. De la Hoya needs Cotto more then Cotto needs him. Shane is fighting Mayorga but a rematch with Shane wouldn't be a bad idea for the same reason I mentioned above and the fact the first fight was close and entertaining. Cintron would be a good opponent for the reasons mentioned in other threads but a bit dangerous with that type of puncher. At this point Cotto needs to heal properly and look into getting a new trainer in his corner. 1 Fight befor ehe rematches MArgarito and Clottey, Judah, Cintro and [possible Gomez are all in the running for it.

Cotto i have a ton of respect for him but he has no room to talk after the ass kicking he got by Margarito. Cotto needs to build his rep back up by fighting a couple solid fighters and then he can start talking by challenging a top dog again IMO...

Pretty Safe To Say He Isn't Talking For A Reason! You Really Think He Wouldn't Take A Fat Payday? Its A For Sure Thing Cotto Will Not Be Fighting Anytime This Year.
