Bernard Hopkins: “Kelly Pavlik Fight Will Be a Bloodbath”

Former two-division champion Bernard Hopkins predicts a grueling war when he meets undefeated WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on October 18. The fight takes place at a catch-weight of 170-pounds. Speaking with BoxingScene.com’s Bill Emes and other media, Hopkins feels that he’s got more to lose in the contest than the younger Pavlik. oooh Im sure Bernard fears big bad Pavlik.

I hope bernard whips him, but either way im a winner.

        Scenario 1.

Bernard wins, Pavlik is exposed and all the yanks try to pretend he never existed.

        Scenario 2.

Pavlik wins and everyone talks about how its the biggest win EVA!!! OMG!!! Complete contradiction of what we hear about Joes win over the "old man"

Oh and before some smart ass says Joe looked bad against bernard, so will Kelly... probably worse

        Bernard Hopkins= Ugly fights.

wow! bernard is giving him respect. I wonder if it will change as the fight gets near. the fight is risky for both. Being an undefeated champion is big and losing to someone who is well respected still marks your career just ask cotto. bernard is risking a lot to cause pavlik puts him in more danger of being hurt and affected after the fight than anyone else he's fought. but age has a lot to do with that. its like a fantasy match up on fight night if we were playing ten years down the road like what would have happened if they would have fought. to bad bernard wasn't closer to his prime. but he one of only a few fighters that doesn't need to be in his prime. a lot of big fights were out of his prime.

good fight for boxing. 2 big scenarios could result pavlik wins big and sets up super fight which I think could be one of the biggest fights ever. americas best versus europes best. like maywheather hatton but bigger. or bernard wins and roy wins to set up a huge rematch years in the making and real main stream attention with great trash talk and antics leading up to it.

I don't see how you can say that. He's saying that he's only a novice, and in the process he's giving HIMSELF mad respect,. as you call it. This is just more Hopkins crap. it'll be the same dreary, clutching butting scramble that it always is with any Hopkins fight.
