The reason we SHOULD care about the nums is that the fighters are clearly focused on which fights will provide the biggest payday. Marg wants the DLH payday. So does Pac. PWill wants Marg to take 4 mil for a rematch.

Cotto's return fight is likely not a PPV (wink). Mosley/Mayorga was taken off PPV. So, really, there doesn't seem to be any bonanza paydays out there in the hottest division.

I've been giving Margo a rough time, but the truth is that he prolly won't find a better payday than what Paul is offering.

According to ESPN.com, official numbers are 450k buys, which is a significant success.

no, they got the estimate that it would do 500k from lying bob. These are from HBO.

It will probably go up 20k after they have fully counted

I've gotten two estimates from industry sources. One was 285K, and the other was 310K. Those numbers are a significant disappointment.

I'm sure this fight did over 400k buys, but who cares? We got a great fight...

If DLH cares about his opponents PPV buys, why would he fight Pac next when his last PPV did terrible numbers? You think DLH is going to decide to fight Margarito all of a sudden if the fight does 500k buys? Even your hero Mayweather didn't care about PPV buys or he would never have fought Baldomir, Judah, or Hatton...
