this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. all 5 of them were blown up.

        yes they were.

duran was obviously at his best at 135. ray , tito and oscar were obviously at their best at 147. hearns i still don't know what his natural weight class is. he carried his power , arguably , all the way to cruiser for god's sake.

the point is who were more credible at 160. not who were natural 160 guys.

people like to compare hagler beating smaller guys to hopkins beating smaller guys.

difference is duran won a belt at 160 AFTER his fight with hagler. leonard and hearns both won belts at 160 , 168 and 175.

oscar never won anything above 160. one could argue he didn't "win" his belt at 160 from sturm in the first place.

tito had 2 fights at 160 aside from bernard before retiring for the first time.

Yeah to a point I guess they were. But personally I think Leonard and Hearns carried the weight a great deal better than Oscar and Trinidad did. I'm not taking anything at all away from Hopkins though, he is an A class champion no doubt. I just rate Leonard and Hearns as tougher comp at 160 than Oscar and Tito.

i'm not saying he shouldn't have taken the fights.

my point is don't compare tito and oscar to duran , leonard and hearns.
Our point when saying it is don't act like Tito and Oscar are the only guys on his resume with the "Hopkins only fights welterweight" crap..

              ronald wright - super welterweight

keith holmes - super welterweight who couldn't win a belt at 154 so he jumped to 160 and became a long reigning champ.

glengoffe johnson - good win but obviously glengoffe wasn't the guy at 160 he was at 175 and to a lesser extent 168.

              antonio tarver - is ****.

i never said hopkins only fights welterweights. i said "bernard hopkins is the greatest super welterweight fighter of all time."

I always thought Tito was a good win for Hopkins i mean he held one of the other belts and was still unbeaten.

                  it was a great win.

now for all the bernard guys who trump bernard as a legend and say joe didn't beat anyone.

name one guy bernard beat at 160 that joe couldn't beat at 168?

joe couldn't beat oscar? tito? holmes? joppy?
