Rocky Graziano? Robinson was down for about two seconds and knocked out Graziano in the same round. I believe the fight only lasted three rounds.

Or was it the Rocky Castellani fight? Robinson did look very bad in that fight, it was after his three year layoff.

His reflexes weren't the same, he couldn't use his legs for 15 rounds and the speed wasn't all there either, although he still had power.

Robinson made the comeback only for money but he managed to win the middleweight title three more times. People at the time thought it was a miracle considering how bad he had looked in most of his comeback bouts (including the embarrassing decision loss to Tiger Jones).

He definitely didn't look good against Castellani, he was very rusty.

Graziano caught him with a good shot but Robinson came back and knocked Graziano out brutally.

He looked pretty bad against Fullmer the first time too. Fullmer really roughed him up and sam peter'd him to death.

He was like 36 though. Watch how he destroys lamotta or viciously knocks out graziano. Those are very good fights.

Robinson never had good defense, there is no way around it. But he had a good set of whiskers so it all evened out.

I agree he was never a defensive fighter, but he looked absolutely ugly in the Castellani fight. There is no way that the Robinson who fought Castellani was the greatest for sure.

I've seen some older Robinson fights, even at welterweight and he does not leave himself as open as he does in his later career with diminished reflexes and speed.
