So this is what it must be like to be knocked out..

I've always wondered how it must feel to be knocked out. That moment where you're hit and the lights go out and your legs go spastic...

Well, I guess I sort of had a moment today which is probably the closest I'll ever get to finding out (I have never boxed...but want to...but have dodgy weak shoulders and a kinda handsome face)

I'd eaten practically nothing all day and had a nap, thinking I'd have a pizza blow-out at night. As I woke up from my nap, I leapt up to turn the alarm which was (deliberately) situated at the other side of the room...but I got up too fast.

I got one of those ****ing headrushes, so I closed my eyes and waited for it to pass, except....something weird happen.

I opened my eyes to see myself falling...in slow motion...

This headrush was not gonna pass.

So...I'm falling, and I'm sorta of laughing, cos I can see it happening, but I can't prevent it. Actually, my perception of the whole thing was kinda warped, it was like all fuzzy and dreamlike.

Anyway, I'm falling and my rib hits the side of the bed, pretty hard. And yet, I'm still laughing because of the surrealness of it all. That moment when I started to fall down...

it was like being on a crazy drug trip...or being punched by Tommy Hearns. For the sake of this thread, I'm gonna go with the latter.

Has anyone ever been knocked down/out? What IS it actually like? If my recollection of today above sort of makes sense...is it anything like that? That empty, fuzzy feeling inside your head?

Um, I get those a lot actually. Should consult a Dr. if you get those. I know I need to I've actually had one and woken up on the ground with a bump on my head. They can get pretty serious. And no, I do not believe that's what it feels like to get knocked out at all. Getting knocked out is more like being so ****in dizzy you have no idea where you are and your mind can't communicate with your legs. It's like you are 2 seperate halves and your legs are doing one thing, while your mind is on auto pilot and you can't focus your eyes or anything. But I wouldn't know, I'm just guessing I've taken some bomb shots in sparring, but never enough to KO me, just get me alil dizzy.

Only time I was KO'd was when I was a kid (like 13 years old) playing soccer with friends and I was running full speed and bam, hit another kid that was running full speed. our heads crashed into eachother.

I just remember waking up on the ground probably 5-10 seconds later or so a lil confused, vision was real shaky. It took a few moments to clear my head, was cool after that.

I've never been knocked out but I suspect there's a big difference between being knocked out after 10 rounds when ur tired and being knocked out when ur fresh - the latter being the much more painful

            I don't drink.

I have a good enough personality to not have to drink alcohol to open/loosen up.

Honestly, that was genuinely how it felt. My body just felt like a separate entity to me. It was completely disconnected from my brain, which in itself was ****ed.

As for the headrush- don't think they're so serious. It's normally when I haven't eaten enough or slept enough. It got me this time, though.

I was playing ball and flashed into the lane. As I look up, my teammate had ALREADY anticipated my move. I see the ball as it is inches from my - POW - nose.

                Stars. Twinkle, twinkle.

If tht is what a Chuck Liddell (small gloves) right hand feels like...no thanks.
