Once and For All - Boxing vs. MMA

Best of Three - Boxing Match, an MMA match, and a no rules no holds barred match. Who would take the best of three a boxer or a MMA fighter?

I wish i could say a boxer , but those mma fighters wouldn't try to fist fight a boxer. So they would have 2 put a boxer in a submission in the mma match and the no rules no holds barred match.

      Hows this;

Once and For all - Basketball vs Baseball

Best of three - Basketball game, a Baseball game, and a multiplayer game of Halo 3. Who would take the best of three the basketball team or the baseball team?

Its obvious a trained MMA figher would.
Unless he is caught cold 8/10 they would win..
MMA is the closet thing really to street fighting and specially when were
talking about No holds barred which we like to call "An all in"
        which includes everything...

If were talking about which one i prefer it will always b boxing..

          hahaha- nice.

you can't compare boxing and mma. mma is better suited for street fighting. but like any combat sport (tae kwan do, kung fu, boxing, muay thai, jujitsu, wrestling), the person who has better mastered their art would probably win in a street fight.

you cant just say "boxing vs mma." a guy who is a mediocre mma fighter would get knocked out by a master of boxing like roy jones jr in a street fight most likely. anderson silva would destroy someone who trains in karate but is a mediocre competitor in tournaments (actually that guy would probably destroy anybody). a true master shaolin fighting monk would probably **** up a boxer who hasn't mastered the sweet science. and so on and so forth....

yeah it depends more on the individual than the paticuarlar fighting style

that bbeing said, if a good boxer landed the first punch it would be all over, good boxers hit pretty ****ing hard with gloves on, could you imagine being hit bareknuckle? even guys like malignaggi would lay dudes out in the street

              ****** thread

MMA is clearly more suited to street fighting...

boxing as a sport takes more skill though - FACT!

More or less the same thing.....thus making it unfair to the boxer.

I don't think that we should look at the ways one is better than the other but the ways one compliments the other since I believe MMA compliments Boxing and vice versa since in MMA you can use Boxing and mix it up with certain different Martial Arts it's more of a display of abilities in all Martial Arts and Boxing is more of a display of abilities in boxing. You can't have a boxer vs. a Mix Martial Artist because it would be unfair to the boxer. That said one can compliment the other as combat sports other than one going against the other.
