Olympic Boxing Scoring Is Worse Than Professional Judges

Ive saw a few matches early this morning where I saw clean punches landed and the guy gets no credit for it, but then I see grazing shots land for the other guy and the guy is getting points, this is beyond me. I wish they just judged at the end of the round like professional boxing. Anyone understand when they are supposed to give points, I certainly dont.

The Roy dabacle happened in 1988, and they didn't start doing computer scoring until 1992.

I think it just luck if you get some points. You can have a good 3 punch combination and not get a single post. You can wobble a fighter and no points.

Boxing will be on at 4 pm central today thats in one hour, its tape but watch the scoring. Id sure like to know if they let any judges do fights where their countrymen are fighting, that shouldnt be allowed. You can have biasness without that though, you can just like one fighter more than another for whatever reason, something is going on because the scoring is not understandable.

I think the scoring system is garbage is well. I mean if you saw Zamir Izobo bout, Zamir didn't get one point for his knockdowns. I was like, WTF?!?! He clearly tags dude, takes him off his feet, and THATS not a point?!?

Rule 1- The punch has to land on target area with the white part of the glove,

The second part is the part that stops points from being scored. There are 5 judges, with buttons to press, And 3 of the 5 judges have to press the button within the space of 1 second for a point to be scored.

That's why some arn't scored, It pisses me off as well

I understand the scoring system. I just think it's ******ed.

I agree. It should just be the 10 point system imo with 5 rounds so there are no draws.
