I just think that his fight with Gomez did nothing for him. He got to play around and toy with Gomez really. I think he should have fought a guy who could put some pressure on him and maybe a little bit bigger than him.

Should Cotto have even given this ducker Margarito a shot. He lost to Paul and then had tuneups against Golden Johnson and Kermit Cintron. Cotto should have fought Clottey. Clot did more since his last loss. **** Margarito and his ducking. Cotto doesnt duck any mother ****er in the game.

It probably would have been a good idea to fight a tougher opponent but I understand why he didn't.

It is understandable. Maybe he didn't want to get in a war before he fought Margarito.

It's just that stylistically Gomez was a waste of a fight. He could have fought someone like a Baldomir. Something along the lines of that. A guy who puts on pressure but has no pop.

Yeah, he probably didn't want to risk getting injured, cut or ****** up before a showdown with Margarito.

Baldomir would have been a pretty good fight for him, he is ranked by the WBC at welterweight although he has been fighting at 154 lately so I don't know if he can even make 147 and Gomez brought more money to the table. Stylistically though, Baldomir would have been better.

Cotto has been fighting tough opposition for a while. Margarito was just to big and durable for him. If not for the size advantage, Cotto beats Margarito.

Cotto has the better skills, the appearance of better power, better versatility. Marg was just TOO BIG. Just like Steward said, "I have no Idea how he gets down to 147"

If Tony was TOO BIG what does that make people like Cintron and Williams who are even bigger?

It's funny how before the fight everyone said his size will work against him and it wouldn't be an advantage and now that Cotto lost everyone is complaining about the size advantage.

I hope Cotto is smart enough to realize that the real problem is that Arum ****ed him over by making the this fight. Props to Cotto for taking it but Cotto's team should have realized DLH vs Cotto was a real possibility had Cotto fought and won July 26th. Cotto would have probably agreed to Oscar's always present demands for a catch weight fight and it win or lose would have been a huge boost for him. That was a big strategic mistake.

Exactly Oscar thought Cotto would win so did most of the media.

It's not anyones fault Margarito simply whooped his ass.
