be real mayweather put welterweight on the map

before he moved up judah was the biggest name the division had.once he became champ cotto followed suit and moved up.then margotito finally got a name just by calling mayweather out.think about it before mayweather the division had got no attention since the de la hoya, mosley, forrest days!!!

Actually, Judah had already lost to Boldimir by the time Mayweather came onto the scene at welterweight and all of stars had moved up in weight. Margarito didn't have that stand out win at the time and was still seeking recognition. There weren't much talent but he did put it on the map but mainly becuase no one else was there.

Mayweather fought Mitchell at welter before Judah would end up losing to baldomir, their fight was already ready to go before judah lost, welterweight was garbage then though, Vargas, De La Hoya, Mosley, Trinidad, Mayorga, Forrest had all left, your right.

No denyin he stirred up a lotta excitement in the WW division. He just didn't take part in any of the fights people were excited about, wit the exception of the Judah fight.

WW was 1 of the hot divisions before Floyd arrived. But he definitely did not do the division any harm like some of the haters would try to make you believe.
