I just read that on *********, I was under the impression that it was a welterweight fight, but apparantly its gonna be at JMW. Good for Mayorga, bad for Shane in my oppinion.

I don't really see it as a significant problem for Shane. He is going to be in shape no matter what the weight. It has been over 2 years since Mayorga has last made 154.

Mosley at 154 isn't bad, beating Vargas but losing to Wright, but 147 Shane is much better.

Anyone who thinks that Shane is going to destroy Mayorga is insane. He may beat him, but he won't destroy him. Shane has rarely KO'd someone at 154, and certainly not anyone with as good a chin as Mayorga. No one has ever DESTROYED Mayorga. Oscar whipped him, but Ricardo was competitive and did land one big uppercut (but it was a thorough beating). Trinidad stopped him, but Felix got knocked down and lost 2-3 rounds. At his age, Shane isn't going to knockout a guy like Ricardo, who has always taken EVERYONES best shots.

I think you are underrating Shanes boxing skills and power, and over estimating Mayorga chin and ability. It isn't like 6 years ago when he had a chin made out of granite and could outslug better skilled boxers.

I think you are underrating Shanes boxing skills and power, and over estimating Mayorga chin and ability. It isn't like 6 years ago when he had a chin made out of granite and could outslug better skilled boxers.

I said rarely because he has the two fairly meaningless KO's over shot, weight-drained Fernando Vargas. And the first time it was life or death.
