George Chuvalo - Can you imagine?!

I'm sure this is old news to most of you, but apparently there's a new documentary coming out about Chuvalo's life.

This dude had 3 sons. 2 of which died from heroin overdoses and a third that committed suicide. After which his wife did the same..committed suicide.

I've heard of some pretty sad stories, but this one has GOT to be at the top of the list. God works in mysterious ways (believe that BULL**** if it makes life easier to explain/deal with for you)

It's really crazy. I just can't imagine. Now he spends his time going to schools and telling his story and lecturing against drug use.

i've met him once, very likable guy. had one of the best chins, and fought in one of the toughest eras. eventhough he came up short a few times, just look at the guys resume. he fought EVERYONE.

Such a troubled man, but he fought them all and never backed down. He held the pride of his country on his shoulders as one of the toughest SOB's alive. Boxing's P4P best chin of all time. Big George Chuvalo.

No doubt...Ali, Foreman, Frazier. Beat Quarry and Doug Jones. Fought Patterson. He never got KD'd in 93 fights.

I saw a short clip of him and he seemed really genuine. I don't know how his sons ended up on heroin, but he's trying to make up for it and save some people now.

What a great, tough fighter. I can't believe that he's had to endure such a tough life outside of the ring.

I had a look through a book i got about heavyweights and it seems to me that it is cursed to be a successful heavyweight after a fair number of them retired something terrible seemed to happen.
