Floyd had been in the 140lb division maybe a year when zab rematched Spinks and scored the knockout, which by the time that happened, floyd was trying to get a belt at 140 since, Tszyu was inactive, Hatton had already targeted Tszyu who was the real champ at the time, Cotto was way too green and Gatti was the only champ Floyd had a viable chance at getting a belt from, Vivian Harris had barely started making noise then also when he had a alphabet belt and we all saw what happened to him. Zab called him out, Floyd took a tuneup at welter to prepare for Zab and with the fight Already signed, Zab lost. Keep in mind, this all happened in less than a year from early 05 when Zab called him out, to december 05 when the Zab fight was signed,
