Paul Spadafora: Unbelievably Broke

There's one fighter that lives where I do, and it's Paul Spadafora... He is from Pittsburgh but lives in Erie Pennsylvania... about 90 minutes north of Erie... I was bull****tin with my buddy last night and he was like hey do you know a Paul Spada something hes a fighter.. lighter guy... I was like yeah Paul Spadafora, Ive seen him fight twice downtown at the Avalon hotel... and hes like yeah I was getting my haircut today and he was down there... He said, Paul had mentioned he was supposed to fight Mayweather way back when but it never happened. And then he was like this guy is broke... like REAL BAD. There was a girl with him, and she said she had to pay for his haircut because he didn't have the money.. (Im not sure when she said this if Paul was there?) But this is what my buddy was tellin me.. And then he told me, Paul is supposed to be fighting on HBO coming up here, September 15th.. I can't remember what fight is on the 15th, but apparently Spadafora will be fighting on the underard of that fight..

I'm not questioning that this actually went down, but why would Spadafora tell a complete stranger that he was supposed to fight Mayweather back in the day.
