I am a mexican american and i back all the mexican fighters in boxing today. I love what they give to the sport. Real warriors. Is there anything wrong with this? I seen people get mad because mexicans root for margarito only because he is mexican. Along with Pacquiao with the filipinos, just some examples I dont get it. What is wrong with rooting and defending your nationality?
i dont see anything wrong with it but i dont like it when u try to pretend other fighters are quitters and Mexicans have not or would never quit when they already haveComment

One person said I shouldn't root for Europeans because I'm an American.
Another said I shouldn't root for white fighters because I'm white.
In my opinion, fans should root for whoever they want to!Comment

No it's not bad to root for a fighter of your nationality, but I think sometimes peoples biased towards fighters makes them delusional about how good that fighter really is. I know myself since Im mexican-american I usually root for mexican fighters and american fighters, but that's not the sole purpose I root for them. Plus sometimes I root against a mexican fighter like the Cotto/Margarito fight I was rooting for Cotto.Comment

I suspect that even though your saying that your cheering for "European fighters" it's just another way of saying your cheering for white fighters across the pond. Europe is composed of several countries and cultures and generally when talking about cheering for "one of your own" your talking about someone of the same culture (German, Mexican, Filipino, etc.), there is so pan-European culture. So to say your a fan of "European fighters" is crossing the line because national-cultural pride and racial pride. Are you also equally a fan of black Europeans?Comment
