    hell yeah it would've. their first fight was everything you'd expect from a heavyweight match. it was total blood and guts shown by both fighters. although I am a little frustrated that Lewis decided to retire instead of taking the rematch, I do understand his decision cuz after all, he was 37 years old and he has every right to think that he would get beat in a rematch cuz he doesn't have enough left in the tank at his age to deal with a guy like vitali. even though I think lewis would've fought smarter and won a UD in the rematch.

    The retirement without giving vitali a rematch also didn't do anything for his all-time status cuz win/lose in the rematch, Lewis would've been rated a little higher by the boxing analysts IMO. This 'Anticipated rematch that never happened' will live on in boxing history.
