I've watched quite a few of his fights (to see what the truth behind all the hype was) and have been pleasantly surprised.
He's got some pop, very good speed if he doesn't do the 'I must bulk up to fight heavyweight' bull**** and a 'mediocre at best' chin.
It's definitely a recipe for excitement.
I suspect he'll carve up a few weaker heavyweights, then get caught by a good one and go down.
I hope he does well though purely because I'd like to see a heavyweight who does more than shuffle sluggishly around the ring. I'm not sure that Haye has the chin but I am morally certain that the increasingly heavy heavyweights would get murdered by a speedy powerhouse a la Tyson/Frazer. The mistake that the 6' - 6'4" fighters make is eating too much and then justifying their weight as somehow useful in a prizefight.
Crude clubber Sam Peter would be ****loads better at a lighter weight. Tua was a different fighter when slim and fit.
I would love Haye to do well as a template for a better heavyweight.
There's no way of telling til he gets in the ring a few times.
