Fact is many Eastern Europeans live in extreme poverty and devote their whole being to boxing, black american's while not living in a perfect world have a better prospects to earn a good living than the average eastern European(who can go to university and still only work in a factory for a pittance), I'm guessing a black american university graduate will have no trouble finding decent employment?

It all comes down to who has the most willpower and Eastern Europeans have more of it at this point in time.
I am not a Black supremacist. Kaykay said us whites beat up on you Black boys. What else meant I to say??? Just say yes. There is no supreme race we are all equal.

Since both of you are arguing back and forth i will only talk about a topic i am kind of an expert in, which is fiba basketball.

The americans lost mostly due to the fact that

        1. We were sending tandems of B and C level stars to play at the world championships in 02 and then in the olympics in 04.

        2. Those teams from 02/04 werent really "teams" as much as they were stars actually willing to play during the offseason

        3. It wasnt even close to the best teams we could have put out, no garnett, no shaq, no kobe, no tmac, no kidd, you get my point.

        4. Europeans that were playing often had been together for years and developed chemistry, the americans got so arrogant, our best players didint want to play, and the europeans developed team ball, we were so used to sending whoever we wanted out there to win. This was evident when 10 of our 12 elected players from the 2003 world championships elected not to play in 2004. This came to a head in 2004 because you had larry brown coaching players like Marbury and Carmelo Anthony along with young guys like lebron and i think wade, Brown is notorious for not playing young players and being very defensive minded, even with all that turmoil we STILL got the bronze in 04, with Losses to Lithuania and Argentina, With no outside shooting, no true point gaurd, a 3rd tier group of players, we still got 3rd.

        5. Europeans havent been "Beating us the last 6 years" they have been competitive with us and actually able to win a couple here and there. But 2 losses to argentina (latin american country) 2 losses to lithuania and 1 loss to yugoslavia hardly qualifies as "europeans beating us every year". Just means they are competitive. I dont see you saying anything about that near 35 point beating we gave lithuania just the other day. Or the 21 point beatdown we just gave Russia. Its just so shocking for us to lose, you get this perception we lose every year, we dont.

        6. Since the USA has revamped it program, since 2006, we have lost 1 time, to Greece in the world championships 101-95. With no Kobe Bryant, and a group largely consisting of youngsters, we still managed 3rd beating the hell out of argentina.

Say what you want, europe is still not better than us at basketball, and if we take the Gold in the olympics, using a format of team chemistry and dedication, we will once again show why we will continue to reign. This isnt a matter of "whites are beating blacks at basketball" its a matter of whos sending who out to play against us, how long they have been together, and how well they know each other. This year we have real leadership, and since your up, why dont you see what im talking about and tune into our game on right now against austrailia.

        6. Keep in mind, we still arent sending our best possible teams out there, this year, No Ray Allen, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, you get my point. The best possible NBA team we could play hasnt played since probably 2000 or 96, our best players are a bit more interested now, but largely our best talent pool doesnt play.

That is accurate to say, as there's more non pro athletes out there then Pro's.

and yeah good point as I recall 1 time on a Friday Night Fights a former Pro Footballer just got his ass whooped. very different skill set compared to other sports as this football player did have the size but just got creamed.

"ESPN just created a nonsense article to sell adverstising. It creates a brief flash of dialogue, sorta like political candidates offering to suspend the gas tax for the summer. Gets ignorant voters talking about things beyond their grasp and makes sound like the candidates have an easy plan."

ESPN is all about advertising, make it slightly controversial saying "no black superstars in boxing" and bam, problem solved, as this topic gets snowballed. Hell look how much conversation ESPN referring to "boxing being a dead sport" has created.

"I offered up my limited view, and if I was to come up with a summary, I'd say most Americans are becoming couch potatoes. The only pick up games you are likely to see is basketball. Probably as many pick up soccer games as football games and pickup baseball, forget it. Local municipalities don't offer recreational Nascar races either."

yeah isn't obesity a pretty big problem in the USA? still though the pick up games and what not aren't all that bad, as I get in on my own fair share of balling.

"I dare say there are many more fast handed or big punchers walking around that won't ever box, and that's the bottom line. Boxing ain't relevant except for a few diehards."

very true, as the growing love for team sports, cupped with interest in other sports, or possibly just a lack of interest in competing in sports all together stop those fast handed big punchers from ever boxing.

Espn article is nonsense. Floydy the #1 p4p fighter couldn't outdraw a local dogfight in his own hometown. He always needed a Gatti, a Ricky, and Oscar to do the numbers. Plus, I don't care where the guy calls home, he's gonna get booed. If he had to support himself on a global tour like Tyson is doing, he wouldn't make it out of Nevada.[/QUOTE]

ESPN is nonsense, and I really don't like them all that much as they have a damn near monopoly on east coast sports coverage and get to have there own opinions constantly thrown peoples way, which is why im starting to watch less sports in general.

and Floyd might need a name to draw, but apparently the new #1 Pound for Pound does as well, as his PPV with D. Diaz sold horribly.

I dont know, maybe you could ignore it?

I usually put any poster who writes about race on a regular basis on ignore because it just brings everyone down to petty race hate chat. Which is incredibly boring and sad to read.

People who write articles like that one on ESPN should be shot because it always leads to arguements like this.

if your a "black supremacist" I'd really like to know what the person your arguing against is

"Today, what can black people do besides run?"

"the travesty that is the history of black people"

"but blacks among blacks spell disaster for blacks."

he'd make a hell of a Klan member.
