Who is the best welterweight right now?

Style of fighters makes the fight.Williams beat Margarito, Margarito beat Cotto, Cotto beat Quintana,Quintana beat Williams....I can go on and on. Who is truly the best? I don't know.
What I do know is that if they would have a welterweight tournement consisting of these fighters It would be amazing for the division, the fans and the sport of boxing! (now picture this!)
Before a major title fight in a sold out arena they have Mr. Buffer Introduce these welterweights One by one to meet in the middle of the ring. As the crowd goes crazy, each fighter pulls a name out of a spit bucket. Then have them pair up for a staredown and a classic "Kodak Moment! Elimination tournement baby!!!!
    Margarito
    Williams
    Clottey
    Berto
    Cotto
    Mosley
    Quintana
    Mayweather
Let's leave De La Hoya out of this one. He has nothing to prove at this stage of his career.

Once Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito fight again we will really know. It's really wide open though because certain guys match up stylistically better with certain guys than others.

You have to ask yourself this question. If all of these guys were in a room, who would walk out alive?

Depends. I still think Cotto would get to Williams' body, but then Williams would probably win a rematch with Margarito, whom Cotto could outbox in a rematch if he changed his gameplan. We have yet to see how good Clottey can be when healthy, or Berto when he steps up.
