hey thanks a lot i found that interesting

i had only seen small portions of various fights of him on video and i always thought after watching those fights he just walked in and got hit lol but yeah seeing that slow mo really was quite interesting obviously his D wasnt great but it bordered on ok...i think he may have been one of those guys who get carried away as they have you on the backfoot and dont care what you land....not so much a lack of skill but a lack of necessity also, he probably found a brawling sort of style suited him and he had the power to pull it off, and his chin was top notch as well.

    good post

it's a good video but it doesnt convince me of anything. I saw it before too. and i know that Rocky was not blocking the punches with his face as everyone claims. People said the same thing about Roberto Duran, and Lamotta

if marciano took as many shots as people claim he did, he would be a vegetable before he retired

Roberto Duran was the best defensive In-Fighter. There is a reason why Hagler couldn't take him out

Duran didnt fight hagler inside. He boxed behind a jab, and used lateral movement, when they were near the ropes he smothered marvin

that is another thing Duran is not given credit for, his boxing ability. When he moved up, he relied on it.

That is why I rate Duran slightly higher then the other 3. The best out of the Fab 4 in order, My opinion

                Roberto Duran
                Marvin Hagler

Hearn's Last but not least. I'd still say Hearns is the most underated fighter in boxing.

Yes, I have no idea what that's supposed to mean but I laugh when I see it.

Marciano was an awkward fighter, even Ali commented on how hard it was to hit him with a good punch when they had their 'computer fight'. He was always moving, bobbing and weaving, looking to get inside his opponent's reach.

Of course he was not impossible to hit, and sometimes looked little more than a crude slugger, for example in the ****ell and Savold fights, but it's impossible to stay undefeated for that long without some type of defense.
You eventually get caught with some punch if you defend punches with your chin, it just doesn't work.
When Marciano got caught, and he was only knocked down twice, he stayed on the defensive and clinched until his head cleared.

Marciano was not an expert in boxing technique but he was an expert at making his height, weight and reach disadvantages into advantages.

My reach is only 68 inches. That's my disadvantage, so I've had to develop a style of my own. It's peculiar. I get low, bob and weave, crouch and move in, come forward all the time.... I'm not a good dancer and I'm not very graceful. Just a little awkward, you might say.

My strength, I guess, would be condition, determination. Determination takes up the fact that you never give up. Right? That's determination! Strength! Punch!

Archie Moore knocked me down in the second round. It's a very, funny feeling. There's no pain, no fright, just the fact that you were knocked down. You realize that the other man can hit you and if you leave yourself open a couple of times like that you can lose the fight.
